Nordmark closes production in Hedensted, Denmark

26. September 2022

In March 2023, Nordmark will close production in Hedensted due to changing market conditions. The production will be transferred to Nordmark’s other production sites, in Sæby, Skagen and Cuxhaven in Germany.

”The wind energy market is not growing at the moment – despite various political statements which might indicate the opposite. It takes years from when the plans for an offshore wind farm are announced until the first wind turbine is standing. We therefore see a decline in order intake,” says CEO of Nordmark, Morten Mørk.

“Due to the declining demand, our capacity utilisation is too low. This is why we unfortunately had to make the difficult decision to close in Hedensted and consolidate production at fewer sites – in Sæby, Skagen and Cuxhaven,“ says Morten Mørk.

The decision will affect around 40 employees.

”We have a range of highly specialised and skilled employees in Hedensted who have done an outstanding job. They are important in relation to finalising current production orders and dismantling the machinery. Some colleagues will be offered employment at other Nordmark locations, to the extent that there are open positions, but unfortunately, we can not offer employment to all. We will, however, do what we can to help otherwise,” says Morten Mørk.
